Profile
Dr. Mezey Zsuzsa graduated from the Budapest University of Medicine in 1969, qualifying as an internal-medicine specialist in 1977 and as a cardiologist in 1982.
She began her career at the First Department of Internal Medicine of Szent István Hospital, where she established and headed the coronary care unit. In 2000 she was recognised as a European cardiologist by the European Society of Cardiology. In 2007 the National Echocardiography Accreditation Committee awarded her transthoracic echocardiography certification, and in the same year she attended cardiology training at Harvard Medical School and served as an internal-medicine consultant at the Third Department of Internal Medicine.
She has since worked in both public and private specialist clinics — including Ferencváros Health Service, Telki Private Hospital and Viola Cardiology — and continues to see patients privately at Viola Cardiology.
Decades of clinical experience have taught her that prevention matters more than intervention. She places strong emphasis on daily exercise, controlling cardiovascular risk factors, and follow-up care after myocardial infarction.
