She has worked in healthcare since 1978 — as a nursing assistant before university, as a night nurse during her studies, and from 1989 in the Second Department of Internal Medicine at Szent István Hospital, under Dr. Kammerer László and later Dr. Vörös Péter. From her university years she has taken part in the regular outpatient care of diabetic patients and in the scientific analysis of their data.

In line with the department's nephrology and diabetology focus, her principal research interest is diabetic nephropathy. In recent years the department has also performed renal biopsies, allowing patients to receive modern, histology-based treatment. Since 1998 she has participated in haemodialysis at the hospital's on-site Fresenius Medical Center station, where CAPD (continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis) is also offered.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic she saw approximately 400–500 patients per month in her nephrology and diabetology outpatient clinics; she continues to provide care where possible at Szent István Hospital's Departments of Internal Medicine, Angiology and Nephrology, and at the hospital's dialysis unit.

Her main goal is for people with diabetes not to feel like patients but to live a full and healthy life — preventing complications such as kidney disease, blindness, amputation, myocardial infarction and stroke.
